One of the most important yet under-rated inventions of modern times is water filters/purifiers. They are a part of our every day lives yet we rarely even need to consider its importance. In third-world countries these filters are saving many lives. In areas where filtration and purification dont exist water borne diseases and sickness from contaminated water take their toll. While there have been countless initiatives taken to get more filtered and purified water available every where in the world, there are still people dying from water-borne illnesses.

The job of installation soiling does not exclusive live abroad but also in our own backyards. As I pen, there are thousands of Americans out there who are unmindful of the potential harm that contaminated water brings. Even though many people are skeptical about the water filters/purifiers hype there is enough evidence to suggest otherwise. Recently chlorine based water has been linked to diseases such as cancer, birth defects, and other serious illnesses.

People think that our drinking water doesn't contain harmful micro-organisms and is healthy to drink, but it actual fact it has small concentrations of bacteria that can be potentially deadly at a high enough concentration.

Your water may not be safe to drink, whether it is well water or city water. In the case of city water sources majority of them are from municipal water sources. These sources contain potentially dangerous chemicals used to disinfect recycled waste water. It is no wonder that an increasing amount of people, armed with this knowledge, are turning to filters to make their tap water safer to drink.

There are many different water filters/purifiers available to choose from, undersink filters, countertop filters, faucet filters and whole house filters are the most used. Each of these water filters have different methods of filtering but the general aim is to get water more pure than what you have coming out of your taps. The job of these filters is to remove harmful sediments, bacteria and deadly chemicals that may pose a threat to you and your family's health. Prices for most of these water filters are affordable except for the more elaborate filters which are indeed more pricey. For great water filtering systems I recommend a whole house system. Personally this filter type, which fits most budgets, is of great quality and needs very little maintenance. Which ever way you look at it water filter/purifiers is not an expense rather it is a life time investment that protects your health and the health of your family.
