All of us have a fondness for flowers, and bouquets are favourite gift items for special events like birthdays and weddings. However, one big problem with a bouquet is that the leaves and flowers wither very soon and the bouquet thus loses all its beauty and charm. You may purchase artificial flowers if you do not like the thought of fresh flowers withering away, but fake flowers will not have the same attraction as the real ones.

Undying freshness of bouquets can never be attained, yet their wilting can be slowed down notably by some ways. Here are a few tips that will help you keep the flowers looking fresh for a longer time.

Firstly, you must discuss with your florist about the life time of the flowers that are in your bouquet, as some varieties such as sunflower, have smaller periods of bloom than flowers like lilies and roses. To ensure that bouquets keep longer, you have to get the florist to select flowers that have a longer life.

If you are the recipient of a flower bunch, then you can trim the stems and keep the bunch in a vase with water. The freshness span of bouquets is slightly prolonged by doing this. If a few leaves or flowers have begun to wither, you can weed them out so that the bouquet doesn't look ugly with dry leaves sticking out.

You must keep the vase at a place where it is able to get enough sunlight and fresh air from outside. Flowers wilt soon when they do not get enough air and sunlight, and if you offer them these natural elements, you can be sure that your bouquet will survive for a much longer time. However, the flowers have to be protected from direct heat, as that will drain all the moisture from them and make them wilt.
