The word bouquet is a French derivative and means a floral arrangement. It entails designing of a flower bunch in varied ways, after which they can then be wrapped up and presented as gift items for specific occasions.

Bouquet making is an art that need enormous patience and dedication to acquire and practise. It is also called floristry and involves beautiful floral arrangement by making use of leaves, flowers, herbs and even stems.

Bouquet making starts with selecting the appropriate flowers for clustering and then cutting them to fit an arrangement in a bouquet. Then the dry leaves are separated and a particular floral pattern is made, after which they are tied up and wrapped.

Each florist has his own exclusive design, which is dependant on the occasions the bouquets are meant for. The design also depends on the seasonal availability of flowers and what price the bouquets can fetch in the market.

It is also very important to understand that different cultures ascribe different meanings to a flower as the same flowers can symbolize different ideas in different communities. Therefore, choosing the right bouquet for an event needs a lot of thinking, particularly if the recipient belongs to another culture.

But, there are a few flowers that have similar meanings across different cultures. For instance, if you love someone whether from your culture or not, you can always gift that person red roses, as they symbolize love and passion and bear the same meaning in different cultures.

Bouquets have a specific shelf life too. The flowers dry up soon, and so it is better to place them in vases filled with water, so that they can last a little longer than their usual span.

It is quite convenient to purchase bouquets, and all you have to do is step into a local florist shop and explain your preferences and the event, and the florist generally will come up with the ideal bouquet. But, if you do not have enough time, you can decide to make an online purchase instead of going to a florist shop.
