There are two main choices for TVs today. There is the LCD TV and the plasma TV. The LCD TV has become the more popular one of the two. This is largely because of several advantages such as: the price of the TV, the size, how versatile it is, the experience it produces, image quality, viewing range and angle, the screen resolution, and the impact that it will have on the environment. These advantages have made LCD TVs a much more popular choice.

Price is a big factor in the popularity of LCD screens. The look is similar, but the price is much less. The reason that this is the case is because the plasma screen materials are much more expensive than the LCD lights that light the LCD TV. This is the main reason why the screens are so different in price.

The size of LCD TVs ranges from itty bitty screens to screens that are as big as a wall. The picture quality on either side of the size scale will still produce the same high quality of picture. The resolution has a lot to do with picture quality. LCD TVs are made in the top levels of resolution quality.

Another advantage to LCD TVs is their variety of performance options. Original LCD TVs did not have all of the options available for them today. However, the improvements that have been made to the screens have made them a very reliable screen. Any size LCD TV will give excellent sound and picture quality. Another advantage to the LCD TV is the fact that different types of programs such as games and movies can have different settings assigned to them like picture brightness and contrast.

The LCD TV viewing experience is another advantage that puts it ahead of other TV types. A large LCD screen transforms a room into a theater experience. This enables people to watch movies in a theater setting at home. This can save money and time for them.

The screen of an LCD TV is very clear. The images appear on the screen with a high contrast and good color shading. Even in a bright light it is still possible to see the LCD screen clearly. The resolution on LCD TVs is also very high. This makes HD TV viewing an amazing experience.

One of the biggest concerns with the earliest forms of LCD TVs was the viewing angle. It was hard to see the screen without sitting directly in front of it. However, the newer LCD TVs have a much wider viewing angle. The difference is so much that the viewing angle is now a benefit rather than a drawback.

Another great benefit of an LCD TV is the energy consumption. LCD TVs take up a surprising lack of power considering all the light they put out. The power consumption of a LCD TV versus a plasma or older TV is quite a bit less. Because of this, the LCD TV is friendly to the environment.
