Living With Anxiety Or Panic Attacks

Have you been awakened in the middle of the night with an overpowering sense of terror, but can't figure out what it is that you are so fearful of? Have you ever been in the grocery store, walking down the aisles, minding your own business, when you suddenly break out in a cold sweat, start shaking, and feel a powerful desire to run out of the store as quickly as possible? Do you find yourself worrying intolerably over things that you use to take in stride? If so , you could be suffering from uneasiness or panic attacks.

It's stated that 4 million people suffer because of this disorder. It's also known as Generalized nervousness disorder. Afflicted with OTT anxiety can not only cause emotional symptoms, but can also point you to be afflicted by physical symptoms as well . ( Headaches, muscle tension, sweating, nausea, having difficulty sleeping, and so on.

The exact cause for anxiety attacks is unknown. Several factors do seem to contribute to it though. Some of these are genetics, ( members of the family that have it also ), brain chemistry, ( unnatural levels of certain neurotransmitters ), and environmental stresses,eg death of a friend or family member, abuse, divorce, for example. It is commoner in girls then men, and can begin in youth, or may not show up till adulthood.

If you think that you could be subjected to tension or panic attacks/disorder, it's best to see your doctor as soon as possible. It can be diagnosed, most likely, by your GP asking you certain questions, not only about your medical history, but also by performing a physical exam. They may base their diagnosis on the power and duration of your symptoms.

Treatment for anxiousness disorders include medicine, behavioral therapy and/or relaxation strategies. Medicines frequently used to treat anxiety defects are usually employed in a short term manner, and include a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. The medicine helps because it tends to help make you feel calmer, can relax your muscles, and help with restlessness. Some of the common medication's used include Xanax, Valium, Ativan and Librium. It could take two weeks for these medicines to'kick in'. Some of these medicines are addictive, so your doctor should/will watch your usage.

It would also be recommended that you try behavioral care, in which you learn to recognize what thoughts and behaviors could be leading you into having an anxiety episode. You may be able to learn how to change your thought patterns, and learn to take a look at worries in a more pragmatic way. This should be tried alone, or together with medication.

Anxiety attacks/Panic anomalies, can't be stopped by'willing' your consciousness to stop them, but you can do a few things to help control some of the worst symptoms. Try to restrict your caffeine intake, exercise every day, eat healthy, and always seek treatment from a professional if you are feeling it is becoming beyond control .
