Expresso Coffee Is Rich In Flavor

The word espresso literally means brewed for you. This drink has been around since the early'00's. Actually the term expresso coffee has been around since the'00's but the method of making coffee in the Espresso method is much older than that. There is a lot of confusion about expresso coffee regarding whether it is the method of making the coffee, or if the term pertains to the coffee been used. There is also some question on how it should be drank.

One of the misconceptions behind expresso coffee is that it pertains to a particular type of bean. This is actually untrue. Expresso coffee can actually made from any bean. It does not matter if it is decaf or bold, Columbian or Jamaican. Actually your favorite coffee been can be used to make espresso. This does not mean that the bean is not a very important part of the process it simply means that the bean does not make the coffee espresso.

So if it is not the particular bean it must be the blend. This is only partly true. There are specific blends that are designed for espresso but this blend does not make it expresso. Coffee. While it may be true that a better cup of expresso coffee can be made from a specialty blend this does not mean that you cannot make a cup of espresso out of any bean.

The roast is also disassociated as being the difference with Expresso coffee. In fact there is no one single roast that is correct for Expresso coffee. Roast is a personal choice and there are different roasts that tend to be popular in different parts of the world. The traditional roast in Italy is a medium roast while California's tend to prefer a bold roast.

Most coffees are rated by the type of beans that are used or the blend, but Expresso coffee is different than other coffees due to the fact that it actually relates to the method used to brew the coffee. This does not imply that there are not specific beans and blends that are designed to be used in the brewing process of Expresso but rather that it is the brewing method that is truly unique to Expresso coffee. While it is traditional to serve coffee in a mug or coffee Expresso coffee is actually served in a small cup that resembles a child tea cup. This cup only hold a shot of coffee not a full 8 oz as do most coffee cups. What truly makes Expresso coffee Expresso is that it is brewed under a large amount of pressure using extremely finely ground beans.

Making expresso coffee is a skill. A properly made cup of expresso coffee will have a light brown layer on the top. This layer is known as crema. Crema can only be produced if the coffee is made properly. In order to make an authentic cup of espresso you must have a true espresso machine. The difference in machines is how much pressure is applied to the brewing process.

The way Expresso coffee is drank is as specialized as the way it is brewed. The proper method of drinking Expresso coffee is to lift the cup to just below the nose and then inhale the aroma. Savor this aroma and then drink the Expresso coffee in several large gulps almost like you would a good lager. Once the cup has been emptied it should be placed diligently onto the saucer.

It is not a sin to sweeten Expresso coffee but it is best savored just the way it was brewed. However if you are the type that just has to have a little sugar with your coffee feel free to add it to your Expresso coffee. In fact it is often done this way in Italy. No matter if you like it sweet or not enjoying a cup of Expresso can be a very unique and bold experience.
