If you are stuck on what to get your favorite friend or even a parent for the next occasion you would be doing everyone a huge service by getting them wind chimes. Their sound is one of pleasant sweetness that can be truly appreciated by just about anyone. As the sounds of the night provide a gentle harmony for the melody of the chimes, your loved ones will be forever grateful for the gift.

There is a very special peaceful nature about listening to wind chimes. Many people have found that they relieve stress and they provide a sounding base to anchor them. Many people have tried comforting sounds of the chime to help them sleep after a traumatic event. It is a one of a kind sound, and every chime has a one of a kind sound. Yours will never sound like your neighbor's.

Of course, it is not just night time comfort that these charming chimes offer. They also offer a daytime comfort that is rare in today's world. In the quiet of the afternoon the sound of the chimes playing their unique tunes can be enough to settle a child at naptime or help an adult feel completely at home. There is something nearly magical about the sound that is reflected in the way we gravitate toward it.

It can offer an anchor in the middle of stress. It can be soothing to loneliness. We respond very rapidly to sound, and this is one that we are drawn to.

You can get just about any kind of material that makes up the chimes. If you add a nice wooden ensemble and blend it with a metal based blend you can end up with a nice creation of personalized sound. Alternatively, two metal based chimes can provide a range of tones that make the tunes extra special.

No house or apartment is truly complete without the sound of the chimes running through it. Those walking by can appreciate its beauty just as much as someone who is sitting on the front porch. There is something nearly autonomous about the sound that keeps it unique and wondrous.

As a thoughtful gift, the wind chime is such a perfect, on the nose selection that it shouldn't be passed up. Anyone without a chime will soon come to understanding what they've really been missing all this time. It does much more than add sound effects for those walking by.

New US Mint Quarters Feature National Parks and Sites

A new series of quarters is scheduled to debut next year from the United States Mint. Known as America the Beautiful Quarters, the series will include fifty six different designs. Each one will be a unique depiction of a National Park or National Site from the 50 States, US Territories, and Washington DC.

The new series begins two years after the conclusion of the popular 50 State Quarters Program. From 1999 to 2008, the US Mint released a total of fifty different coins to honor each of the states. Average Americans were able to learn more about history and geography by examining the coins received in change. A separate program was launch in 2009 to feature the remaining United States Territories and Washington, DC.

America the Beautiful Quarters will share some aspects of the prior programs, but take a different focus and introduce a new collectible. Similarly, the 56 coins will feature unique reverse designs paired with a constant design for the heads side of the coin. The obverse will feature a restored portrait of George Washington, as it originally appeared on the 1932 Washington Quarter. The quarters will be released at the same rate of five new designs per year, released in roughly equal intervals. Since the coins will be issued for circulation, once again anyone can collect the series through pocket change.

The new series will shift its focus to sites of natural beauty or historical significance. Sites selected for the program may include any park or site which has been federally designated and remains until the supervision, management, or conservancy of a federal entity. Eligible sites include National Parks, National Preserves and Forests, and Wildlife Refuges.

A program of silver bullion "quarters" will be introduced to accompany the series. The coins will contain 5 ounces of .999 fine silver and bear designs which are duplicates of the circulating quarters. Collectors have shown interest in the series since it will provide a large 3 inch diameter to display the unique designs of the series.

The America the Beautiful Quarters scheduled for release during the inaugural year of 2010 will feature Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Yosemite National Park in California, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.
